GETTING REAL
Here are some of the things I learned from this book:
I think this is a book that everyone should read in order to get in touch with their true self and with the reality that they are living in. I believe peoples morals and values change direction for better once they have read the book. It makes you really understand and appreciate what you are living and how you are living it. It helps you improve relationships with anyone, form your parents to your classmates to even strangers. The simple art of communication improves. And the best part about the book is that it actually is part of the key to being your self, to speak up when you don't like thing or when you do, to be honest with yourself. It is actually a book that helps everyone improve every aspect of their life. I am very grateful that I got to read this book.
- We need to have our self respect and be confident, because when we tell the truth we don't know how the other people are going to react. By having self respect we are willing to take a chance.
- It is important to live in the What Is, if we don't we start imagining things that don't happen, we make up situations and reasons for peoples actions in our head.
- I did the noticing excersise, I noticed what my body was doing, then noticing what was going on around me. At last I noticed what my inner voice was saying, and it said: you belong in the muntains, in the countryside, self supporting yourself from the land and actually living your life.
- We have to be totally transparent, be honest with other people although it could hurt their feelings; sometimes sugar coating it can be a cultural thing!
- Sometimes the truth or the things that we believe to be real are not what the rest of the people perceive. They could all have their own perspective of things. We should be aware of this in order to create a deeper undestranting of people and of things in general.
